We hold community events throughout the year. These are free of charge and are fun-packed events. When we hold summer or Christmas fairs the stalls are free of charge. It’s our way of supporting local groups and small businesses in our community.

Abram Community Centre Christmas Fayre is on Sunday, December 1st, from 12 pm to 4 pm. Admission is free; there will be free coffee, tea, and mince pies. You can meet Santa and his elves in his grotto; all children attending will receive a free Cadbury selection box wrapped in Christmas paper.
We are having a free raffle. Everyone who attends the Fayre will receive a free raffle ticket. Prizes include a litre bottle of Gin, Vodka, Whiskey, and sweet treats.
We have 20 stalls selling different items. We have charged no fee for having a stall. It's our way of supporting local businesses and groups in our community. Please come down, pick up some early Christmas presents, and support our community businesses and groups.
Abram Community Centre, Vicarage Road, Abram WN2 5QX
On Sunday, 10th November, there is the Remembrance parade and church service in Abram. Can all people taking part please be on Dootson Street at the back of Abram Community Centre at 9.50 am so that we can start the parade at 10.00 am.
At 10:00 a.m., the parade leaves Dootson Street, turning left along Warrington Road. We continue to walk along Warrington Road, arriving at the church around 10.15 a.m., ready for the service to begin at 10.30 a.m.
After the service, the parade assembles down the side of the church and follows the same route, returning to Dootson Street for dispersal around 11.40 a.m.
The Remembrance service at Abram Church is being led by Mrs Close and Mr Etches.
Our ward councillor, Eunice Smethurst, is joining us for the parade and service this year.
Abram Community Centre will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will provide free coffee, tea, soft drinks, and toast.
As in previous years, the centre will be showing the National Service of Remembrance live from London on the big screen throughout the morning.
We will be selling British Legion poppies on the morning of the parade.
Regarding safety, we have arranged, as in previous years, for safety marshals to parade with us. They will wear orange high-visibility jackets and help Wigan Council operatives keep us all safe on the roads.
PrimeCare Ambulance Service will provide first aid and an AED for the parade. Thank you to PrimeCare Ambulance Service for their continued support and help with this event in our village.

Please note you do not have to be a member of one of the above groups to walk in the parade. This is a National Day of Remembrance, and everybody is welcome.
Please take time to read the safety information below.
While parading on the road, if you hear a continuous blast on an air horn, you must leave the road immediately and move to the pavement on your left-hand side. Under no circumstances should you go back on the road unless instructed to do so.
Please ensure you act on any of the police/safety marshal’s advice. All marshals will be wearing orange high-visibility jackets, and the head safety marshal will be wearing a blue high-visibility jacket.
Be aware of uneven roads and paths on the main road and in the churchyard.
If a first aider is required, please see the PrimeCare first aiders participating in the parade.
Please report any situations or unsafe acts to the safety marshals.
Can we please ask members of the community to join in at the back of the parade and not walk on the pavements at the side of the parade. In the event of an emergency and we need to get off the road, we will need to use the pavement for the safety of the people walking in the parade.

On Saturday 26th October we are holding two fun packed Community Halloween Parties at Abram Community Centre.
Due to demand in previous years, we are holding two parties on the same day. Our first party will be at 4.30pm till 6.30pm and our second party will be 7pm till 9pm.
Both parties are free of charge, and we will be providing the following: Children's entertainer with games and prizes, face painting, coffee, tea, crips, biscuits, cartons of pop and a cone of sweets for everyone who attends.

King Charles III Coronation Party-Saturday 6th May 2023-12pm till 3pm
The new King will be crowned on 6th May 2023 in Westminster Abbey, London and we are having a community party to celebrate this special occasion.
The party is free of charge, and we will be providing soft drinks, biscuits, crisp, children's entertainer, face painting, games and prizes.
The bar will be open.
Everyone who attends will get the following free a cone of sweets, a hand flag and a King Charles III metal coronation badge to commemorate this special day.
We are showing the coronation of King Charles III live on a big screen so you will not miss what's happening in London.
